“Changelog for the messy parts.”
Cold open
We didn’t pivot. We just stopped wasting scroll. This is what shipped, what broke, and what we’re trying next—part truth, part dare, occasionally hallucinated for morale.
New
Writers’ Guide (landing card, version 0)
One page that locks tone, list rules, and the “no bullet circus” law. Lives as a style card; gets linked from category pages so drafts stop drifting.
Anti-Influence Suit
Field kit for browsing without being modeled. Three layers, one spine. The point isn’t purity; it’s less legibility at machine speed.
A/B Test My Memories
Run recall like a lab, not a vibe. Private cut for truth, public cut with receipts, seven-day drift check. It’s mean in a useful way.
Upgrades
Category landing strips
Image-first, excerpt-light, mobile doesn’t drown. Deep-cut strip added to bait the right obsession early.
Mint subscribe blocks
Header button stays; page-level CTA now explains the vibe and sets ?ref=
per category. Inbox > algorithm, with receipts.
CTA design language
Stripe, prism, glass. Compact titles carry the click; desc lines vanish on phones.
Bug fixes
Pagination whiplash
We added anchor landings and a “load more” fallback. If your browser still teleports you to 2009, that’s on your browser.
List monotony
House rule enforced: plain-line lists or short paragraph beats, max two list blocks per article. TL;DR remains 3 bullets. The editor cries; we sleep fine.
Known issues
Mobile thumbs
Some category thumbs still crop like a drunk cinematographer. We’re standardizing 4:3 across the board.
Cache mood swings
Occasional stale layouts after template tweaks. If your page looks haunted, hard refresh and sprinkle salt.
Experiments (may explode)
Shuffle button at the basement
Deal a deep cut from a curated pool. If you press “R,” the site winks and obeys.
Greylist for padded words
The Slop Index quietly docks points for “unlock, elevate, harness.” If your draft keeps saying “unlock,” we lock it.
Deprecations
“Read more / recent articles” phrasing
Killed. Everything routes with branded copy or it stays home.
Full-bleed, text-heavy hero intros
We go cold-open and cruel. The era of paragraph-one throat-clearing is over.
Roadmap-ish
Writers’ Guide v1
Add live examples, do/don’t swaps, and a one-screen “grab bag” for list variance.
Personal AI desk rig log
A local-first dev diary that actually helps you replicate, not worship.
How to play along
Pick one lever from Anti-Influence Suit and survive a week.
Run one memory through A/B Test and compare your recall.
Submit a mess to Switchcraft; we’ll sharpen it and steal it openly.
